Based in Tilburg, The Netherlands, Abubakarr Bangura is a dynamic educationist, curriculum designer, and social entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in education, leadership, lecturing, public speaking, and international development dialogue. He currently serves as Coordinator of the Sierra Leone Diaspora Advisory Council (SLDAC) and is the CEO of SEP Investment Services SL (Ltd) in Sierra Leone.

In his professional work, Abubakarr supports business development, diaspora investment, and entrepreneurship coaching, providing practical guidance to Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora who wish to establish businesses in the Netherlands or across Africa. His work bridges knowledge, opportunity, and investment, empowering diaspora communities to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development.

Abubakarr has played a significant role in strengthening education in Sierra Leone. He has contributed to the establishment of three schools, expanding access to quality learning at the community level and supporting long‑term human capital development.

In the diaspora sector, he previously served as President of the Sierra Leone Central Union (SLCU) – The Netherlands, where he led impactful initiatives that connected Sierra Leonean communities across the Netherlands and mainland Europe. His leadership helped deepen development linkages between the diaspora and Sierra Leone, particularly in the areas of education, youth empowerment, and community development.

Abubakarr also serves on several influential boards, including the Afrikan Diaspora Policy Center (ADPC) in The Hague, where he contributes to policy dialogue, diaspora engagement strategies, and international development frameworks.

Internationally, he has represented Sierra Leone and the diaspora community in global development spaces. He served as a Diaspora Ambassador for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and as a World Ambassador for Wilde Ganzen, supporting community empowerment, grassroots development, and global partnership initiatives.
