Betty Milton is an accomplished communication specialist, seasoned journalist, and dedicated public servant with over two decades of experience in media, public information management, and diplomatic communication. She currently serves as the Information Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Brussels, a role she has held for more than five years with distinction.

Before joining the diplomatic service, Betty built a remarkable career in journalism. She worked with Awoko Newspaper, one of Sierra Leone’s most reputable and influential media institutions, for over fifteen years. During this period, she established herself as a respected reporter known for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to factual, people‑centered storytelling. Her work contributed significantly to national discourse, public awareness, and the strengthening of Sierra Leone’s media landscape.

Betty holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Mass Communication from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, where she developed a strong foundation in media studies, communication theory, and public affairs reporting. She further advanced her expertise by earning a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM). This combination of communication and governance training uniquely positions her at the intersection of media, public policy, and diplomacy.

In her current role as Information Attaché, Betty is responsible for managing public information, strengthening the Embassy’s communication strategy, and promoting Sierra Leone’s image across Belgium and the broader European Union. She plays a key role in media engagement, diaspora communication, and the dissemination of official information to stakeholders and the public.
